Baby Driver's Edgar Wright reveals what his next film will be
Edgar Wright has confirmed what his next film is going to be.
The director, who last brought sleeper hit Baby Driver to screens and before that introduced the world to the Cornetto trilogy, has confirmed that his next venture will be "a straight-up psychological horror thriller" that's set in central London with a female lead – a first for Wright as a big-screen filmmaker.
"I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I've spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years," he told Empire.
"With Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead you make movies about places you've lived in. This movie is about the London I've existed in."

During the same interview, Wright said the film will be reminiscent of the late Nicolas Roeg's adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's Don't Look Now and also the Roman Polanski film Repulsion – whose female lead suffers from androphobia (a fear of interacting with men) and *spoiler alert* consequently goes mad.
The as yet-untitled project is due to shoot this summer, and the screenplay has been co-written by Wright and Penny Dreadful writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
While that's all very exciting, Wright fans will no doubt be bummed by the revelation Hot Fuzz 2 isn't happening quite yet.

Back in December, Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost posted an Instagram photo of himself with Wright and co-star Simon Pegg, declaring that the sequel had been "green lit" in the caption.
However, his rep later informed Digital Spy that he was only joking, and Frost later amended his caption to reflect this.
On the plus side, Wright's new film does sound pretty intriguing, so count us in.
