Discounting Takes a Toll
Outerwall, formerly known as Coinstar, cut it guidance for the third quarter and full year. Earnings will be no more than $0.94 a share for the quarter and a maximum of $5.12 for the year. It had earlier forecast $1.36 to $1.51 and $5.76 to $6.26, respectively. OUTR plunges 16 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Kythera Biopharmaceuticals said its ATX-101 compound for the potential treatment of double chins met all primary endpoints in two Phase III trials. KYTH pops 30 percent the premarket.
JP Morgan Jumps on Delta Bangwagon
Delta Air Lines has been a monster, with bullish options paper hitting repeatedly. Now JPMorgan is jumping on the bandwagon, upgrading the stock to "overweight" from "neutral." It also raised the target price to $26 from $22. DAL climbs another 2 percent in early trading.
Sohu.com Conviction Buy at Goldman
Goldman Sachs added Sohu.com to its "Conviction Buy" list, predicting that earnings will accelerate. The target price is $98. SOHU, which closed at $69.61 yesterday, climbs 3 percent in the pre.
