Chip and Joanna's New Restaurant Finally Has a Name, Menu, and Opening Date

From Country Living

Get ready for breakfast, Fixer Upper fans! The Gaines have been in the process of transforming Waco's historic Elite Cafe into their new restaurant, and they've finally shared some new details about the project, including the name, menu, and (drum roll, please)... when it will be open for business!

Chip and Joanna Gaines's new restaurant, dubbed "Magnolia Table," will open later this year, the couple announced on the Magnolia blog. The food joint will serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and the menu will be full of recipes handpicked by both Chip and Joanna.

The couple purchased the 98-year-old landmark (once visited by Elvis Presley) after it closed in 2016, and they've been busy restoring it ever since-Chip working on construction and Joanna working on design, of course. The restaurant is a Waco landmark, and has been frequented by both locals and travelers, includes the Gaines family, for decades.

Just like the homes they overhaul for families on their HGTV show, Chip and Joanna wanted to give this establishment new life and purpose, all with Joanna's signature farmhouse flair. "People always say the restaurant business is a beast-and we believe that, we aren't naive to the fact that this is all new to us-but we are genuinely thrilled that we get the opportunity to restore a Waco treasure into something new," Joanna wrote on her blog. "I'm convinced that this place holds at least one memory for nearly everyone in Waco, Texas."

The restaurant is also the fulfillment of a longtime dream for Chip. "Opening a breakfast joint has always been something that Chip's been interested in," Joanna wrote, "and it's been so fun to watch how excited he has been about the entire process."

In addition to remodeling the place, the Gaines have also spent a considerable amount of time creating the menu and testing recipes. Visitors will be able to choose from breakfast staples, homemade baked goods including pies and biscuits, as well some standout dishes, like Chip's famous ham sandwich and the "Gaines Brothers Burger."

There's no word on a specific opening date yet, but we're excited to see what they serve up later this year.
