Cinemark: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Cinemark Holdings Inc. (CNK) on Friday reported fourth-quarter net income of $19.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Plano, Texas-based company said it had net income of 17 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 45 cents per share.

The movie theater owner posted revenue of $798.5 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $765 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $213.8 million, or $1.83 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.22 billion.

Cinemark shares have risen 3 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen roughly 7 percent in the last 12 months.
