Conn. health insurance exchange processes hundreds more applications; total of 753 over 3 days

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut's health insurance exchange says it has enrolled a total of 753 people in plans over three days.

Access Health CT said the latest figure accounts for enrollments processed as of 4 p.m. on Thursday. Open enrollment in the new marketplace set up by President Barack Obama's health care law began on Tuesday. It runs through March 31.

It was unclear how many of the 753 people enrolled in Medicaid or private plans offered in the exchange.

The exchange's website continues to receive steady traffic. There have been 82,939 visitors over the three days.

A spokeswoman for one of the insurance companies offering plans through the exchange, HealthyCT, said the new nonprofit entity has received more than 100,000 unique visitors to its website over the past three days.
