If you didn't read Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, chances are you at least scanned the Sparknotes version for your freshman year English class. Alcott's classic feminist work is getting the silver screen treatment (again), and stars Emma Watson (I die), Meryl Streep (I die again), Lady Bird's Saoirse Ronan, and Call Me By Your Name's Timothée Chalamet. And hold onto your bonnets because the first cast photo is here!

Watson shared this shot of the cast on set yesterday, writing, "'I could never love anyone as I love my sisters.' - Louisa May Alcott, @littlewomenofficial 💗 From left: Meg March, Greta Gerwig (director), Jo March, Amy March, Beth March and Laurie (Theodore Laurence)."

The film is helmed by Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, and features Watson as Meg March, Streep as Aunt Carol (not pictured), Ronan as Jo March, Florence Pugh as Amy March, Eliza Scanlen as Beth March, and Chalamet as Laurie-Amy's husband. Pugh shared the same Polaroid-style shot as Watson on her own feed, captioning the photo "Tiny Ladies and Timmy 🤗 #littlewomen."

The film-which just debuted its official Instagram account-is a little ways off. Little Women is set to hit theaters in December of 2019, and is expected to play in all major theaters across the country.
