Fort Myers Judge Posts Bond After Arrest in Prostitution Sting
A Fort Myers judge has been released on bond after being arrested along with five other men in an undercover police prostitution sting in Naples. The Naples Daily News reported Lee Circuit Judge Jay B. Rosman was arrested along with the others after arranging to meet someone Friday they thought was a prostitute but who was actually an undercover Naples police officer. A police report said Rosman, 64, of Bonita Spring offered to pay $300 for an unspecified sex act. He was charged with soliciting prostitution and resisting arrest without violence. Rosman was released on $4,000 bail. Court records did not show an attorney for Rosman. Rosman has been a judge since 1986 when he was appointed to a County Court post. He was elevated to Circuit Court in 1992 and was the 20th Judicial Circuit's chief judge from 2011 to 2015. Rosman is a former prosecutor and assistant public defender. Rosman is married to a Naples attorney and the couple has three children. There was no immediate response Monday to a request seeking Rosman's status on the bench. The circuit website lists a full civil calendar for him for the rest of the month.
