SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ Horace Mann Educators Corp. (HMN) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $47.8 million.

The Springfield, Illinois-based company said it had profit of $1.13 per share.

The provider of auto and homeowners' insurance for teachers and other educators posted revenue of $352.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $133.3 million, or $3.17 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.31 billion.

Horace Mann expects full-year earnings in the range of $3 to $3.20 per share.

Horace Mann shares have dropped roughly 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $40.06, a decrease of roughly 8% in the last 12 months.
