The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Allbirds

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Co-Founder Timothy Brown for US$243k worth of shares, at about US$4.86 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being US$1.08). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.

In the last twelve months insiders purchased 125.80k shares for US$325k. On the other hand they divested 51.12k shares, for US$162k. Overall, Allbirds insiders were net buyers during the last year. Their average price was about US$2.58. This is nice to see since it implies that insiders might see value around current prices. Does Allbirds Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It appears that Allbirds insiders own 8.7% of the company, worth about US$14m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Allbirds Insiders?

We note a that there has been a bit of insider buying recently (but no selling). That said, the purchases were not large. On a brighter note, the transactions over the last year are encouraging. Insiders own shares in Allbirds and we see no evidence to suggest they are worried about the future. While we like knowing what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
