Jessica Simpson Has Taken Out Her Iconic Hair Extensions

If you like to change your hair a lot, but prefer to keep your natural crown relatively untouched, extensions provide an excellent opportunity to play around with length, color, and style. But certain kinds of extensions can be painful and uncomfortable to keep in because of the weight they put on your natural hair, especially if you have been wearing them for years like Jessica Simpson has.

Simpson's worn her hair long and buttery blonde for about as long as she's been famous — possibly longer. Her signature length, however, is made possible with the help of a few well-placed bundles. On August 5, the singer posted a selfie showing off her hair's current natural length, which reaches about two inches below her clavicle.

In the photo, Simpson looks just as glamorous as she would wearing those extra inches. She captioned the photo, "This is blurry, but good Lord I love to be extension free" and boy, can I relate to that.

About six years ago, I cut my hair into a lob, and shortly after began to I miss my long hair. I wanted to add some length, so I decided to get some clip-in extensions. After a while, they really started to feel heavy on my scalp. Simpson has been wearing extensions for years so I can only imagine how great taking them out must feel.

Fans in the comment section swooned over her natural look writing, "Your hair is so full without them!! 😻" They even offered some advice, "You have amazing hair!! Grow it out!" We think Simpon looks gorgeous with shorter and longer hair, but we get it — sometimes, you need a break from the styling, the clip-ins, and the tension some of us tend to put on our strands.

There's no telling if Simpson is going extension-free forever, but we're here for the look as long as it lasts.
