For Just $17, You Can Stay in a Mansion Straight Out of 'The Great Gatsby'
In honor of World Book Day, Airbnb is offering $17-a-night stays at homes inspired by your favorite books.

For anyone's who's dreamed of immersing themselves in the world of their favorite book, that fantasy can now be a reality. In honor of World Book Day, Airbnb has a mind-blowing surprise offer for its bibliophile customers, and it's pretty lit...erary. (Sorry, we had to.)
Combining popular stories with dreamy getaways, the vacation rental company is offering exclusive stays in homes around the world-each inspired by a bestselling novel. And the best part? Before applicable fees and taxes, you'd only have to pay $17 a night, which according to Airbnb is the average price of a book.
Ten hosts are participating in the offer, with each home representing a wildly different genre. There's a picturesque six-bedroom Long Island estate inspired by the extravagance of The Great Gatsby; a beachy North Carolina cottage straight out of The Notebook; a rustically romantic Outlander-esque apartment in Scotland; and a charming English cottage located in the very birthplace of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
But as with any too-good-to-be-true offer, there's a small catch. You have to book the $17-a-night stays on April 23, and the bargain nights are only available for two day periods during the months of May, June, and July. Specific dates vary depending on the rental.
Regardless of time constraints, this is too great a deal to pass up. Can you imagine reading Pride and Prejudice in the actual town where Austen wrote the iconic novel? It doesn't get much better than that.
