Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle plan girls' trip to cheer on Serena Williams at Wimbledon

We’ve caught glimpses of them in public together at royal events, but we’ll finally get to see how friendly Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton really are when the two step out this weekend.

The sisters-in-law will attend the women’s singles final of Wimbledon on Saturday to watch the Duchess of Sussex’s pal Serena Williams fight it out for the title. Kensington Palace has confirmed the appearance on Twitter.

Needless to say, the internet erupted at the news, with Twitter users struggling to contain their excitement.

Williams and Meghan have been close for years, with the 36-year-old tennis ace attending the royal wedding in May in with her husband, Alexis Ohanian.

It won’t be the only Wimbledon outing for Kate, who will attend the men’s singles final with her husband, Prince William, on Sunday. Her family, including sister Pippa Middleton, have also made repeat appearances at this year’s event.

The duchess is a patron of the Grand Slam tournament, while her new in-law attended two games in 2016. Time to move on up to the royal box!
