Quaid is no stranger to playing presidential. He portrayed Bill Clinton in the TV movie The Special Relationship as well as fictional President Staton in American Dreamz.

Quaid joins previously announced Katrina cast members Matthew Broderick, who will be playing FEMA director Michael D. Brown, and Annette Bening as Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco. Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson, who starred in the first season of American Crime Story, The People v. O.J. Simpson, are also expected to return.

Murphy is already looking ahead to Seasons 3 and 4 of the series. Season 3 will focus on the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace, with Edgar Ramírez as Versace, Penélope Cruz as his sister Donatella, Ricky Martin as Versace’s partner, Antonio D’Amico, and Darren Criss as serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

Murphy confirmed to E! News that the show has also picked up the rights to the book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin, which takes on the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and that that is what Season 4 will be centered around.
