La. weekly initial unemployment claims up
First-time unemployment insurance claims rise in Louisiana for week ending Oct. 5
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending Oct. 5 increased from the previous week's total.
The state labor department figures released Friday show 2,456 initial claims compared to 2,307 a week earlier.
The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,480 from the previous week's average of 2,414.
Continued unemployment claims claimed for the week ending Oct. 5 decreased to 23,293 compared to the previous week's total of 23,551.
The four-week moving average of such claims decreased to 23,693 from the previous week's average of 23,900.
