This story contains spoilers for Season Four, Volume Two of Stranger Things.

If you polled, let's say, 10 Stranger Things fans and asked them what their favorite Season Four, Volume Two moment was, we can only accept one answer. It has to be sweet Eddie Munson shredding the absolute hell out of Metallica's "Master of Puppets," correct?

Right. The scene, which goes down minutes before the Upside Down makes Munson the latest Stranger Things casualty, has already become legend. In Esquire's postmortem with the actor who plays Munson, Joseph Quinn, we learned that he studied up on how to play "Master of Puppets," so even the close-ups of his guitar-playing were accurate. You'd think that Quinn's dedication would grab the attention of Metallica itself, right? Of course it did. In a statement posted to social media this Tuesday, Metallica wrote a loving appreciation of Munson's concert:

The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include “Master of Puppets” in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away... it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?

It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show.

Metal, dude. You can check out the original post—complete with the full scene of Eddie's concert, which you should absolutely rewatch—below.
