A mother tried to teach her two kids that God exists by choosing to endanger their lives in a horrifying way. Bakari Warren crashed her car on purpose with her 5- and 7-year-old children inside. Her reasoning? She wanted to prove to her kids that God is real.

The 25-year-old mom intentionally crashed her SUV into a pole, WSB-TV 2 reports. Miraculously, the Atlanta family was not harmed in the incident. But police said it could have been deadly.

Warren was driving north when she crossed into the southbound lanes and drove head-on into a concrete pole. Police asked the children why they thought she had done it.

“Her eyes was closed and she was saying, blah, blah, blah, ‘I love God,’” one daughter said. “She didn’t want us to just have a car accident. She wanted us to know that God is real.”

Warren later told police she did it in order to prove that God will protect them. She also said her Facebook page would explain, but nothing out of the ordinary was found on it.

She is now behind bars on $22,000 bond. She is charged with two counts of child cruelty.

The two children are now with their grandparents.
