Valentine's Day Is Out Of Control
Christmas shoppers have barely finished putting presents under the tree, and retailers are already pressuring us to get a jumpstart on the next gift-giving occasion: Valentine's Day.
The Consumerist reported that a Kmart in Ohio and a Target in Florida are sporting Valentine's Day themed retail displays, complete with stuffed animals, candy, and cards.
Valentine's Day is still 57 days away.
The retailers' push to get customers to shop early is part of a growing trend that inches up holiday shopping seasons more and more each year.
Black Friday sales began earlier than ever this year, with top retailers like Walmart and Kohl's opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day while online retailers like Amazon started promoting sales on November 19th.
