Having the private lives of your whole family aired in a popular Netflix drama wouldn’t be fun. Even if someone as damn loveable as Olivia Colman was involved.

Prince William recently revealed that his idea of downtime doesn’t involve curling up with Kate to watch the latest episode of The Crown.

Olivia Colman, who is set to play Queen Elizabeth II in the third and fourth seasons of The Crown, has dished on meeting the “very charming and very lovely” prince at a dinner.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, the Oscar-winning actress spilled a steaming cup of English Breakfast tea on her exchange with the second-in-line.

“He asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, ‘Actually, I know what you’re doing,’” she said.

“I was so excited and asked, ‘Have you watched it?’ His answer was a firm, ‘No.’”

Ouch. Perhaps Wills is simply more of a Downton Abbey guy.

Aside from dining alongside with royals, has Olivia been up to any other interesting prep for the series?

“I did nothing [to prepare], though I did have a movement coach, but still I walked like me, or rather like a farmer,” she joked to Graham.

The upcoming season of The Crown will finally introduce Princess Diana, who is being portrayed by Pennyworth star Emma Corrin. While Prince William will "firmly" not being tuning in, you can catch new episodes from November 17.
