VEGOILS-Market factors to watch Dec 26
The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and
other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures closed lower for a third straight session on Monday
on bearish sentiment over rising production, and tracking overnight losses in
U.S. soyoil and crude oil prices.
* U.S. soybean futures neared a one-month low on Monday as traders watched and
waited for China to make further purchases after re-entering the market recently
as trade tensions eased.
* Oil prices plunged more than 6 percent to the lowest level in more than a year
on Monday, pulling back sharply late in the session as fears of an economic
slowdown rattled the market.
MARKET NEWS
* Global stock markets were heading into the year-end under a heavy cloud after
another rout this week as U.S. political uncertainty added to heightened
concerns over slowing global economic momentum.
