Host Adam Conover refuted the claim that the United States health care system is the best in the world. He explained, “American health care is not the best in the world, but despite that we spend more per person annually on health care than any other developed nation.”
Before someone could let out a “Thanks, Obama,” Conover said that the high cost of health care isn’t about politicians but something called the “chargemaster,” a document that each hospital keeps that decides what it will charge its patients.
While walking through a hospital with signature tall hair, Conover went through a list of highly inflated prices for simple items.
Conover went over how these fake prices for real services can be a nightmare for people who are uninsured as well as those who must pay for ever-increasing premiums.
