Why Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Aren't at the 2019 Emmys
Alas, the Emmys Jonas Brothers double date that could've happened didn't. Sophie Turner is at the ceremony on her own tonight, while Priyanka Chopra, her husband Nick Jonas, and Sophie's husband Joe Jonas are absent. Blame it on work, partly: The Jonas Brothers are playing their Kansas City Happiness Begins tour right now.
Sophie has her first Emmy nomination for outstanding actress in a drama series; she was nominated for her work playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. Priyanka and the Jonas Brothers have no nominations of their own.
Priyanka wished Sophie well tonight, writing on her Instagram Story, "Good luck to our girl tonight! @SophieT our #Emmy nominee!"
Priyanka and Nick congratulated Sophie when her nomination was announced on their Instagram Stories, too. Priyanka wrote, "Congratulations to all the Emmy nominees this year, but especially to you, @sophiet. We love you and are so incredibly proud of you."
Nick reposted The Hollywood Reporter's tweet with the best supporting actress nominees on his Instagram Story and wrote, "Congrats @sophiet."
Sophie, Joe, Priyanka, and Nick's last big double date was in New York City last month. The two couples attended the launch party for Nick's tequila brand.
Priyanka last attended the Emmys in 2017 while Nick has never attended:

"I’ve never had a sister, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie, and just inheriting the family by proxy," she said. "Sophie is super talented, super funny and we have the most fun when we go out together. She’s incredible. By the time this comes out, she’ll be the new Mrs. Jonas [Sophie and Joe had their big, formal wedding in France at the end of June]–I can’t wait for her to join the family."
