Volunteers rescue stranded animals from Turkey flood

STORY: The rescue efforts came a day after heavy rainfall caused flooding in several towns near the Black Sea coast.

Birol Tepe, trainer of the Turkish national rafting team, started a voluntary operation alongside his team mates to find the stray animals.

Tepe’s voluntary team, named Rafting Search and Rescue, rescued six animals including dogs and calves.

Two people have gone missing in recent days and scores of villages in the region have been submerged due to the extreme weather conditions sweeping across northern Turkey.
