Rifco Staff Supports Haiti Orphanage with $75,000 Donation

Red Deer, Alberta / ACCESSWIRE / November 17, 2014 / Rifco Inc. (TSX.V-RFC) is pleased to announce that the staff of Rifco National Auto Finance Corporation has raised $45,000 this year for the Haitian Children's Aid Society (HCAS). Rifco is very pleased to top up the staff's contribution bringing the total donation to $75,000. HCAS has provided food, shelter, medical care, educational opportunities and means of life to orphans and other children in need in Haiti, since 2004.

During the year, Rifco's 80 staff members raised money for HCAS through a wide variety of very successful fundraising events including our Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Executive Shave Challenge, 50/50 draws and numerous other monthly events.

The Company is proud of the charitable efforts of its staff and friends and the leadership provided by Rifco's charity committee. Since 2010, Rifco and its staff have raised over $200,000 for the rebuilding effort at the orphanage in Mirebalais.

The HCAS supported orphanage site in Mirebalais suffered irreparable damage in the 2010 earthquake. The orphanage, currently with over 25 children, continues to operate out of temporary facilities. HCAS is raising capital in order to rebuild, expand and improve the breadth of the offering of the Haitians Children's Home to the Mirebalais community. New land has been acquired, a master plan has been completed to house up to 60 children plus staff members. The reconstruction is in full swing and 85% complete. Currently, over 50 Haitians are working at the site daily. The total cost of the phased project is $1.4 million and at this point over 80% of the funds have been raised. It is the intended goal to have the orphans moved to the new site by March 31, 2015.
