Thursday's After-Hours Movers: Barracuda, PriceSmart, Baidu And More

Three companies were reporting earnings on Thursday afternoon, after the bell.

Shares of PriceSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSMT) are marginally down, to $91.835, after the company surpassed revenue expectations but missed on the earnings front. Sales came in at $697.1 million, up 13.3 percent year-over-year, and above the Street’s consensus of $688.02 million. Earnings, however, came short of expectations, at $0.70 per share, versus the Street’s estimate of $0.74 per share.

Unlike PriceSmart, Helen of Troy Limited (NASDAQ: HELE) is really moving after hours. The stock is down more than 3 percent to $94.16 after management reported earnings of $1.06 per share on revenue of $345.35, below the Street’s consensus estimate of $1.23 per share and $353 million.

Barracuda Networks Inc (NYSE: CUDA) was one of the biggest losers on Thursday afternoon. The stock tumbled about 13 percent (after gaining 1.06 percent over the regular session) although earnings came in ahead of guidance and consensus of $0.08 per share, at $0.09 per share. Revenue of $77.97 million also topped estimates.

Other Movers

Chemtura Corp (NYSE: CHMT), which is up about 2.2 percent in after-hours trading.

Another stock on the rise is Baidu Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ: BIDU), which surged 1.62 percent during the day, and an extra 2.8 percent after the bell rang. No particular events seem to be moving the stock, which may be benefiting from the Chinese crisis.
