OSLO, March 1 (Reuters) - Equinor will resume helicopter flights to offshore oil and gas fields on Friday following Wednesday's deadly crash, a company spokesperson said.

Norway on Thursday halted helicopter traffic to oil and gas platforms following the crash in which one person died and five were injured, and said it was considering grounding Sikorsky's S-92A aircraft model while investigating the accident.

"After consultation with the Civil Aviation Authority and flight safety experts we have concluded that there is no less safety with flying helicopters than it was before," an Equinor spokesperson said on Friday. (Reporting by Nerijus Adomaitis, writing by Terje Solsvik, editing by Stine Jacobsen)
