  • Paulina Porizkova, 57, recently posted a makeup-free selfie on Instagram.

  • The former supermodel discussed the celebration of aging.

  • “Aging is not a disease…It should be celebrated for what it is,” she wrote. “Growth and change.”

Paulina Porizkova is no stranger to baring it all on social media. The 57-year-old regularly keeps it real on Instagram, dishing on topics like not using filters and ageism—all while sprinkling in the occasional bikini photo. And, recently she posted a beautiful makeup-free and seemingly topless selfie to remind us all that aging is something to be proud of.

In the photo, Porizkova poses with tousled hair and an unfiltered, unretouched complexion with hashtags like “#greypride,” “#bareface,” and “#truth” to get her message about aging across.

“A tired, but very content 57-year-old woman early in the morning—with nothing to hide. Even though now, when my face and body reflect the full experience and character of my life, I’m told I should be ashamed of it,” the former supermodel wrote. “Aging is not a disease…It should be celebrated for what it is. Growth and change.”

Her followers were inspired by her photo and words of wisdom. “Thanks for promoting aging as something we should all celebrate! 🙌,” one fan wrote. “You are an inspiration in how to age gracefully and wisely,” another added. “Thank you for your raw authentic posts.” Another wrote: “Beautiful as you are! Aging is a privilege…❤”

Porizkova continues to be a shining example of self-acceptance and is known to call out anti-aging culture on social media with powerful messages. “Combat age. Reverse aging. Rejuvenate. Anti age. None of this is possible. Yet, if you do an internet search on aging, this is what you’ll get. Pills, potions, and workouts to fight the aging process,” she wrote in a previous Instagram post. “You know what the only way to stop aging? Dying.”

She even created a full-blown #oldandugly movement which empowered hundreds of women (and even sparked Lisa Rinna to pose nude to own her “old and ugly”) to embrace their age and beauty by sharing photos of themselves on social media with the hashtag, calling out “ageist shaming” in the process. “We get more beautiful with age,” Porizkova wrote in the post which began the movement. “There is no such thing as ugly and old. Only shortsighted and ignorant.”

Porizkova is always reminding us that it’s okay to age on our own terms by sharing candid photos and honest words—and for that, we are grateful!
