Glitz and glam with shining bright lights, a night spent living the fine life in Chicago means watching the sun go down on the city skyline from a jazzy penthouse. Springfielders will be excited to hear that the penthouse dream for a night is possible for a night with Airbnb, if travelers can stomach the price.
According to a report from Best Brokers, the most expensive Airbnb in Illinois is The Marvelo in Chicago’s River West neighborhood. The nine bedroom tri-penthouse Airbnb has 12 beds and eight-point-five baths, able to house up to 24 people for $10,117 a night after taxes and fees.
For a one week stay, The Marvelo costs $70,822. Beside the neighborhood known for the nearby trendy restaurants, bars and shops; the rental house has a view of the city and sits right on the west bank of the Chicago River.

According to Best Brokers, the pricing data was analyzed for what a seven-night stay in July 2024 will cost.
Currently, there are more than 7 million active rentals on Airbnb listed in 220 countries across the globe. According to Nerd Wallet, a 1 night stay averages at $314 compared to a seven night stay at $213. Airbnbs often aren’t the best deal for short expeditions but longer stays usually means lower nightly rates, making Airbnbs a good choice for extended stays.
The post-tax rate of 500 of the most expensive Airbnb's in the U.S. range $633 per night to $55,729 per night. The average cost per night is $7,881, according to the report by Best Brokers.

For travelers with a blank check, the Riverbend House in Aspen, Colorado is the most expensive rental Airbnb on the market clocking in at $55,727 per night for an 8-bedroom villa.
