RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Advance Auto Parts Inc. (AAP) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $35.1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Raleigh, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 59 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 24 cents per share.

The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $2.46 billion in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.47 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $29.7 million, or 50 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $11.29 billion.

Advance Auto Parts expects full-year earnings to be $3.75 to $4.25 per share, with revenue in the range of $11.3 billion to $11.4 billion.

Advance Auto Parts shares have climbed 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 54% in the last 12 months.
