CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Aemetis Inc. (AMTX) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $30.7 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Cupertino, California-based company said it had net income of 73 cents. Losses, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 59 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 23 cents per share.
The renewable fuels and specialty chemicals company posted revenue of $68.7 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $79.5 million.
The company's shares closed at $4.58. A year ago, they were trading at $6.36.
