The Austin, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 57 cents per share. Losses, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 41 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 28 cents per share.

The senior-focused health care company posted revenue of $1.06 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.05 billion.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $262.6 million, or 64 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $4.32 billion.

For the current quarter ending in March, Agilon said it expects revenue in the range of $1.61 billion to $1.63 billion.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $6.35 billion to $6.47 billion.

Agilon shares have fallen 48% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $6.48, a drop of 69% in the last 12 months.
