AmerisourceBergen: Fiscal 2Q Earnings Snapshot

CHESTERBROOK, Pa. (AP) _ AmerisourceBergen Corp. (ABC) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $27.1 million.

The Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania-based company said it had profit of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.11 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.96 per share.

The prescription drug distributor posted revenue of $43.32 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $43.58 billion.

AmerisourceBergen expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.70 to $6.90 per share.

AmerisourceBergen shares have decreased slightly more than 1% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 17%. The stock has declined 18% in the last 12 months.
