HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Bank of NT Butterfield & Son Ltd. (NTB) on Tuesday reported third-quarter earnings of $50.4 million.

The Hamilton, Bermuda-based bank said it had earnings of 90 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 88 cents per share.

The community bank posted revenue of $136.3 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $129.5 million, which fell short of Street forecasts.

Bank of NT Butterfield & Son shares have increased 41 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $51.12, an increase of 43 percent in the last 12 months.
