Bar-B-Que's has opened on Eighth in Holland, bringing ribs, brats, mac and cheese to downtown

HOLLAND — The first in a string of new barbecue restaurants has opened in Holland.

Bar-B-Que's held a soft opening Sunday, May 8.

"Want to thank everyone that came out and supported our soft open," the business wrote on Facebook. "We had a great turnout! Today was a learning curve for us to get the experience of running the business and to learn how to cater to our customers."

The business was closed the following Monday, but reopened Tuesday.

"We are still working out the kinks but we really appreciate your time and patience with us," the business wrote. "We hope (you) had a great experience and we are looking forward to bettering our services to the customer and to give you guys a bigger variety of food on the menu in the near future."

Rib tips are offered at Bar-B-Que's at 587 E. Eighth St. in Holland. The meal, with two sides, is $14.

While the restaurant has no listed website, hours or menu online — and ownership declined to comment on the opening — an in-house menu includes ribs, brats, pulled pork, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and fresh greens.

The restaurant has filled the former Gude Goodies Bakery at 587 E. Eighth Street. In the coming months, two additional barbecue restaurants plan to open in Holland Township: Boba Q on West Shore Drive and Dickey's Barbecue Pit on Felch Street.
