Best Performing ETFs of 2021
2021 was a banner year for stocks. Major indexes posted double-digit gains for the third consecutive year, thanks mainly to the ultra-accommodative monetary policy and a massive fiscal stimulus.
The S&P 500 (SPY) was up 27% and posted 70 record highs during 2021. It has more than doubled since the start of 2018, its highest 3-year return since 1997-1999, just before the bursting of the internet bubble. Tech heavy Invesco QQQ ETF (QQQ) gained 26% during the year.
