BOSTON – There are a few more weeks left to experience the magic and mystery of ancient Egypt in National Geographic’s exhibit “Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience” at the SoWa Power Station before it closes on Oct. 2.

"Beyond King Tut" explores thousands of years of history, from the boy pharaoh's life in Egypt to the discovery of his tomb and its treasures in 1922.

To achieve that full immersive feel, images and videos from National Geographic’s archives are projected onto huge, bare walls, ceilings and floors to create a multimedia, multisensory experience.

The exhibit presents "one of the world’s most fascinating stories in a whole new way, with no boundaries. Guests will get to experience the splendor of Egypt all around them and voyage with us to the Ancient Egyptian afterlife,” said "Beyond King Tut" creative producer Mark Lach.

There are nine galleries filled with video, music and narration and the experience includes sights such as the temple at Karnak, the Great Sphinx and Tutankhamun’s tomb. It takes about an hour to walk through.

The exhibit is produced by Paquin Entertainment Group, the same company behind other immersive exhibits such as “Beyond Van Gogh” and “Beyond Monet.”

The SoWa Power Station is at 550 Harrison Ave., Boston. An adult ticket costs $32.50 and there are discounts for seniors and military. For tickets, go to https://beyondkingtut.com/city/boston/.
