WASHINGTON, Feb 26 (Reuters) - A judicial appointee of President Joe Biden was assigned to the lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission and eight U.S. states late Monday in Oregon that seeks to block supermarket chain Kroger's deal to buy rival Albertsons.

The case was assigned to Judge Adrienne Nelson, a former Oregon Supreme Court justice who was confirmed by the Senate in 2023.
