DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BCRX) on Thursday reported a loss of $36.1 million in its third quarter.

The Durham, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 25 cents per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $86.7 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $86.5 million.

BioCryst shares have fallen 50% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 52% in the last 12 months.
