WEST MELBOURNE, FL / ACCESSWIRE / October 19, 2023 / BK Technologies Corporation (NYSE American:BKTI) today announced that it received a purchase order and subsequently shipped its BKR 9000 multiband radios to the Hawaii Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services & Injury Prevention System Branch. The 50-unit purchase was made through Pacific Infrastructure Group in Hilo, Hawaii, an authorized dealer of BK Technologies communications technology.

BK Technologies was chosen by the Hawaii Department of Health both in response to the Maui wildfires that struck Hawaii in August and as part of the state's lifecycle replacement program. The BKR 9000 radios will be used by Hawaii EMS across the state for inter-agency and intra-agency portable communications. Due to the nature of the emergency, BK rapidly prioritized and shipped this order in September.

John Suzuki, CEO of BK Technologies, commented, "In light of the recent devastating wildfires in Maui, BK is pleased to have been able to quickly and effectively assist in the state's emergency response efforts by providing our BKR 9000 multiband radios. As we assist with first responder and emergency communications at disaster events, it's important to note that BK's adherence to the P25 standard allows for the rapid response and interoperability required in emergency response operations. We look forward to furthering our new relationship with the Hawaii Department of Health and providing them with dependable and reliable portable communications technology."

The Hawaii Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services & Injury Prevention System Branch administers, maintains, and operates a State comprehensive emergency services system throughout Hawaii that is designed to reduce medical emergencies, deaths, injuries, and permanent long-term disability through the implementation of a fully integrated cohesive network of related components. The state system provides for the arrangement of personnel, facilities and such equipment, primarily in the pre-hospital setting, for the effective and coordinated delivery of health care services under emergency conditions whether occurring as a result of a patient's condition, natural disasters, or other causes.
