SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Bloom Energy Corp. (BE) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $4.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had profit of 2 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and restructuring costs, were 7 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 8 cents per share.

The developer of fuel cell systems posted revenue of $356.9 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $481.9 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $302.1 million, or $1.42 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.33 billion.

Bloom Energy expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion.

Bloom Energy shares have decreased 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $11.97, a decrease of 51% in the last 12 months.
