Brekford Traffic Safety Chosen to Provide Automated Traffic Safety Enforcement Systems for the Town of Capitol Heights

Company to Install Photographic Speed-Measuring and Red-Light Monitoring Systems to Help Ensure Safety of Pedestrians and Motorists

HANOVER, MD / ACCESSWIRE / May 9, 2018 / Brekford Traffic Safety, Inc. ("Brekford"), a subsidiary of Novume Solutions, Inc. (NVMM) and a leading public safety technology service provider of fully integrated automated traffic safety enforcement ("ATSE") solutions, today announced it has been chosen to provide a turnkey automated photographic speed-measuring and red-light monitoring system for the Town of Capitol Heights, located in Maryland.

Per the agreement, Brekford will install up to four speed-monitoring systems and up to two red-light enforcement camera systems, with a focus on increasing safety within school zones. Under the terms of the contract, Brekford will provide turnkey processing services, including video capture, citation issuance, payment processing and adjudication support.

"We are proud to be selected by the Town of Capitol Heights to support local law enforcement's effort to improve school zone safety by reducing automotive speeding and red light violations," said Rod Hillman, Brekford's President and COO. "Our state-of-the-art monitoring systems, in conjunction with high-quality photographic technology, provide a simple, automated way for law enforcement to improve pedestrian and motorist safety while also managing citations. We look forward to supporting the Town of Capitol Heights on their life saving program."

The program is designed to prevent accidents and pedestrian injury due to speeding and red-light running, particularly in and around the schools located within the Town. Violations are captured and processed by Brekford's iP360 citation management system, then approved by the Town's police department before being mailed to vehicle owners. The Town of Capitol Heights is authorized by Maryland State Law to install red-light cameras and speed-monitoring systems.

With multiple ongoing contracts within the State of Maryland, Brekford has created a proof of concept for cities across the state to follow when implementing traffic safety enforcement systems. Brekford's innovative technologies are ideal to help law enforcement agencies and municipalities ensure the compliance and safety of Maryland's 3.5 million licensed drivers.
