Bright Horizons: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) _ Bright Horizons Family Solutions Inc. (BFAM) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $40.4 million.

The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 68 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 87 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.

The child care and early education services provider posted revenue of $489.7 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in October, Bright Horizons expects its per-share earnings to range from 72 cents to 73 cents.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.13 to $3.16 per share.

Bright Horizons shares have increased 15 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 38 percent in the last 12 months.
