Business Expansion: U-Haul of Truman Corners to Add U-Box Warehouse
GRANDVIEW, Mo., Oct. 23, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Until recently, U-Haul Moving & Storage of Truman Corners lacked space to expand operations. But thanks to the recent acquisition of 5.81 abutting acres, U-Haul® will add a new warehouse for U-Box® portable moving and storage containers.
Purchase of the land at 11901 S. U.S. 71 Hwy. will provide space to store hundreds of portable moving containers, enabling U-Haul to serve more customers and meet increased demand for its storage products in the region.
U-Haul acquired the property on Aug. 25.
"The Kansas City metro area is growing every day and U-Haul needs to keep up," said Aaron Krueger, U-Haul Company of Southern Kansas president. "U-Box containers provide the most convenient and secure way to shop and store belongings. This option has become very popular in this area and that increased demand means we need extra space to expand."

Plans also call for the addition of outdoor drive-up storage units converted from retired moving van bodies – a green recycling practice. Sustainable Modular Storage is an innovative program exclusive to U-Haul. The program reuses detached van bodies from U-Haul trucks that are no longer in circulation to build sustainably engineered self-storage units. Sustainable self-storage, constructed from reused materials, protects resources and reduces energy usage needed to manufacture new construction materials of concrete, wood, steel and plastics.
