Calumet says leak at Montana hydrogen plant to impact throughput

Aug 31 (Reuters) - Calumet Specialty Products Partners said on Thursday a leak detected in the steam recovery system at its Montana renewable hydrogen plant would limit throughput until repaired.

The company, which manufactures and produces specialty products and renewable fuels, said the leak was detected earlier this month and the repair is expected to be completed in late September.

Calumet's shares fell 1.2% to $17.48 in morning trade.

The Montana plant's redundant hydrogen systems allow it to continue to run, albeit at reduced rates, the company said.

The plant expects 8,000 to 8,500 barrels per day of renewable product sales for the third quarter, and the facility is currently processing all untreated feed, according to Calumet.

Throughput rates at the legacy specialty asphalt side of the operation remain at full levels, the company added. (Reporting by Arunima Kumar in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)
