The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.20 per share.
The convenience store chain posted revenue of $3.33 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.49 billion.
Casey's shares have climbed almost 9% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $298.76, a climb of 37% in the last 12 months.
