The company said it had net income of $13.9 million, or 12 cents per share.

The prison operator, based in Brentwood, Tennessee, posted revenue of $483.7 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $474.8 million.

CCA expects full-year funds from operations in the range of $1.40 to $1.46 per share.
