Chris Lane Says Girlfriend Lauren Bushnell Is '100 Percent' an Inspiration for His New Music
For Chris Lane, there’s no better muse than girlfriend Lauren Bushnell.
The country star, 34, raved about the Bachelor alum, 29, whom he’s been dating for four months, telling PEOPLE that she’s been a source of songwriting inspiration.
“Heck yeah! I’m definitely in a different headspace than I’ve been in a long time because of this relationship,” Lane said at Spotify’s Hot Country Live presents Florida Georgia Line, where he opened for the Grammy-nominated duo.
“[She] will definitely play into the kind of songs that I write, 100 percent,” he said of forthcoming projects, adding, “I’m finding ways to always be creative and try to write the best songs.”

PEOPLE confirmed the pair were dating in November 2018 after they appeared together at the 66th annual BMI Music Awards in Nashville. Lane also told PEOPLE that they have met each other’s families.
The couple also recently celebrated their first Valentine’s Day — although they weren’t actually together for the occasion.
“It was great, we actually didn’t get to see each other on Valentine’s Day but I did send flowers to let her know that I was thinking of her,” the “I Don’t Know About You” singer told PEOPLE at the Spotify event where Morgan Wallen, RaeLynn and HARDY also opened for FGL.

Since releasing his singles “Fix” and “Take Back Home Girl” featuring Tori Kelly, Lane’s career has hit a chart-topping trajectory — and it’s been all uphill thanks to the success of his romantic slow jam “I Don’t Know About You,” which was released in September.
“This could potentially be the biggest song of my career thus far,” Lane said. “I had no clue that people would take to it the way they have.”

Soon, Lane will be taking his hits on the road as he gets ready to join Grammy winners Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney on their Dan + Shay: The Tour as an opener this spring.
“We know each other really well so that makes it more exciting to go on the road with people that you love,” Lane said of Smyers and Mooney, who just won best country duo/group performance for their hit “Tequila.”
In addition, Lane will serve as opening act on Brad Paisley‘s upcoming world tour this summer. “I grew up a Brad Paisley fan going to his concerts so I’m super honored to be chosen,” he said.
