WASHINGTON (AP) — WASHINGTON (AP) — Cogent Communications Group Inc. (CCOI) on Thursday reported a loss of $56.7 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Washington-based company said it had a loss of $1.20. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.13 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 87 cents per share.

The internet service provider posted revenue of $275.4 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $280.7 million.

Cogent shares have climbed 15% since the beginning of the year.
