Coherent: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) _ Coherent Inc. (COHR) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $73.2 million.

The Santa Clara, California-based company said it had net income of $2.99 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $3.22 per share.

The maker of lasers for commercial and scientific uses posted revenue of $461.5 million in the period.

Coherent shares have fallen 53 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $133.17, a decline of 50 percent in the last 12 months.
