YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) _ ContraFect Corp. (CFRX) on Thursday reported a loss of $20.1 million in its second quarter.

The Yonkers, New York-based company said it had a loss of 27 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 10 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 10 cents per share.

The company's shares closed at $1.94. A year ago, they were trading at $1.25.
