Crypto comes to the aid of Pornhub stars following PayPal split

Adult streaming platform Pornhub recently announced that PayPal would no longer be processing the payouts owed to the site’s performers, leaving countless people without the funds to pay their bills.

The payment processing giant informed Pornhub of its decision to cut all ties this morning, although the reasoning still remains unclear.

In a blog post, the platform implored its models to switch payment methods and update their accounts accordingly. Other payment processing options available include Paxum, Check, and the Verge and Tron cryptocurrencies.

With the adult platform already having ties to the cryptocurrency community, it didn’t take long before members of numerous top crypto projects and exchanges offered to help.

Tron founder and marketeer Justin Sun – whose project is already supported on the platform as a payment option – wrote:

“Pornhub accepts TRX payment. We need to add USDT-TRC20 supports too.”

Elsewhere, Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao also chimed in, writing:

“Sounds like an opportunity for crypto?”

Pornhub began accepting Verge payments last year as a way to give people extra privacy when making direct deposits or payments to the platform or its models.

In the same year, it was announced that Tron and Zcash would also be supported, though it is still unclear whether the latter can be used at the moment.

Spankchain – a cryptocurrency-focused payment solution for the adult industry – also tweeted its sympathies.
